We take a look at some of the key talking points ahead of Saturday night's match against Carlton at the SCG.
Friday night footy returns to the SCG
For the first time in 2015, the Swans will take to the SCG under the Friday night lights in front of what is expected to be a packed stadium.
The Swans’ clash against the Blues will be the first of only two Friday night matches at the ground this season with the second coming in Round 20 against Collingwood.
It is the Swans' first game back at the venue since the Round 5 loss to the Western Bulldogs and they will be looking to get back on the winners list in front of their home crowd.
Delivering the Goodes
After being under pressure and playing in the club’s NEAFL side this season, Brownlow Medalist Adam Goodes showed glimpses of his best against Hawthorn last Saturday night.
Goodes gathered a season-high 18 possessions, seven marks, five inside 50’s and a goal against the Hawks and will be looking to continue that form against the Blues.
The match will be a special occasion for Goodes as well as Lance Franklin and Lewis Jetta with Friday night’s match kicking off AFL Indigenous Round for the 2015 season.
Can Buddy kick a bag?
For the second time this season and just the 18th time in his career Lance Franklin was held goalless against the Hawks last Saturday night.
There were no doughnuts left in his locker this week, but look for the star forward to bounce back in a big way.
After going goalless against Melbourne in Round 6 the Coleman Medallist rebounded the following week to boot a bag of four against the Cats.
Franklin said earlier this week that he was happy to share the goal kicking load with his teammates, particularly if it meant the side was victorious.
"I think it gives everyone around the footy club confidence that we don't need to rely on one person to kick goals every week," Franklin said on Tuesday.
Celebrating Indigenous Round
There will be a number of activities and initiatives taking place around Friday night’s game against Carlton, the first in AFL Indigenous Round.
The club will be wearing its indigenous Guernsey designed by the mother of Adam Goodes for a second consecutive year in a match that will support the work undertaken by partners Recognise and the GO Foundation.
Singer/Songwriter Dan Sultan will also be performing for fans before the match kicks off so make sure you get into your seat early to enjoy a performance from the ARIA award winning musician.
Both teams will be playing for the Marngrook Trophy, first introduced in 2002, it honours the indigenous roots of Australian football and recognises the valuable contribution of Indigenous players to the game.
The caretaker curse
After parting ways with Mick Malthouse as senior coach earlier this week many are expecting the Carlton players to come out firing under interim coach John Barker.
The Blues will be fired up and will no doubt arrive at the SCG with vigour and a point to prove.
Ben McGlynn, who notches game 150 on Friday, expected as much and believed the Swans will need to be ready to counterpunch whatever Carlton throws at them.
"I guess that there's probably a bit of weight off their shoulders with what's happened around the week,” he said on Wednesday.
