The Sydney Swans are set to blood their second debutant of 2015 with the inclusion of Dan Robinson for Friday night’s clash against Carlton.

Robinson, who has spent the past two seasons on the Swans’ Rookie List, will make his long-awaited senior debut in this weekend’s Indigenous Round opener at the SCG.

After featuring in the Swans’ 2015 NAB Challenge campaign, the 20-year-old has averaged 25 disposals in the NEAFL this season playing through the midfield and up forward.

Robinson’s pre-season form caught the eye of the Swans’ coaching staff with Robinson named among three senior emergencies for the opening two rounds of the home and away season.

Swans coach John Longmire believed Robinson will add further flexibility to an already versatile playing group.

“His form last year in the NEAFL was really solid and it’s been the same again this year,” Longmire said.

“He has worked really hard at his game, can take a good mark overhead and can play a number of positions so he really deserves this opportunity.”

Robinson replaces Jake Lloyd (omitted) who has been left out of the side which defeated Hawthorn at the MCG on Saturday night and will be the Swans second debutant since Isaac Heeney's Round 1 berth.

Longmire said plenty of confidence had been gained in the wake of the Swans’ thrilling win with the performance expected to hold the playing group in good stead against the travelling Blues.

“Tactically things might be a little bit different from Carlton’s perspective but regardless of what has happened we need to make sure we play the sort of footy we want to play,” Longmire said.

“And that will involves the same sort of attack on the ball and hardness we displayed last weekend.”

The Swans and Blues will play off for the Marngrook Trophy to commemorate Indigenous Round, with a live performance from Indigenous singer-songwriter Dan Sultan to precede the 7.50pm match.
