A second consecutive best on ground performance has seen midfielder Dan Hannebery move within 19 votes of leader Nat Fyfe in the AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year award.

Hannebery was awarded ten votes from John Longmire and Rodney Eade following a career high 42 disposals performance against Gold Coast.

The 24-year-old midfield star now sits in outright second for the award on 61 votes, just behind Fremantle star Nat Fyfe on 80 votes.

Fyfe received just two votes for his game against Richmond on Friday night.

Co-captain Jarrad McVeigh was among the vote getters, receiving seven votes for his 39 disposal game against the Suns.

Defender Dane Rampe collected six votes for his best game of the season, while Lewis Jetta (five votes) and Tom Mitchell (one vote) rounded out the best players from Saturday’s game.
