Ben McGlynn looks likely to miss the Swans’ Round 11 encounter with North Melbourne due to a minor hamstring strain.

McGlynn suffered the hamstring complaint during the Swans’ final training run before the flight to the Gold Coast with scans clearing him of any major damage.

The injury was enough to rule the small forward out of the Suns clash and another week barring any miracle recovery, according to General Manager of Football Tom Harley.

“Ben obviously didn’t travel to the Gold Coast and instead had a scan in Sydney,” Harley told SwansTV for this week’s HCF Injury Update.

“We’ll assess Ben along with all our players, as we always do, on Thursday. It’s probably unlikely he’ll play this weekend given we’ve got the bye.”

The week off will give fitness staff a chance to assess the injury list when football returns for both the AFL and NEAFL sides on June 26-27.

Harley was confident Isaac Heeney would resume full training later this week and be available for the Swans’ Round 13 clash with Richmond while Lloyd Perris (knee) and Lewis Melican (groin) should also be fit for competitive football around the same time.
