Craig Bird and Daniel Robinson have both been cleared of serious injuries after scans provided some positive results on Monday.

Bird (shoulder) and Robinson (ankle) suffered game-ending injuries in the first half of the Swans’ NEAFL curtain-raiser on Friday.

Swans coach John Longmire confirmed scans had cleared the pair of serious damage with both to spend only the one week at most on the sidelines.

“Fortunately they’re not too bad,” Longmire said.

“They’re not as bad we first thought after the game, we suspected both might have been missing for a number of weeks.

“Bird has an AC joint injury, he probably won’t play this week but he’s a chance to play next week which is a good result.

“And Robinson, we were fearful he cracked his ankle, but the scans are fine.”

The news comes in light of the imminent return of Ben McGlynn and Isaac Heeney from injury.

Both players are expected to return via the NEAFL on Saturday.
