The Swans will be without forward duo Lance Franklin and Kurt Tippett for Thursday night's clash against Port Adelaide after accepting one-match penalties handed down by the Match Review Panel.

Both reports, stemming from Friday night's match against Richmond, were assessed and subsequent suspensions handed down by the panel on Monday.

Franklin was reported for rough conduct against Richmond's Shane Edwards during the second quarter.

It was the view of the panel the incident should be classified as careless conduct with medium impact to the head.

"This offence was classified as a two-match sanction. The player has no applicable bad record. An early plea can reduce the penalty to a one-match sanction," a statement from the MRP read.

Tippett was reported for striking Richmond's Dylan Grimes in the third quarter - an incident also classified as "careless conduct with medium impact to the head" - which resulted in the same sanction.

Swans coach John Longmire confirmed the Club's position and acceptance of the one-week bans at Monday's press conference, meaning the team will be without both key forwards for the match against the Power.

It will be the first time since Round 7 last season Longmire will be without both Franklin and Tippett.

The panel also examined a first-quarter incident involving Adam Goodes and Richmond's Taylor Hunt and determined that no further action was required.
