One last chance to shape up or ship out - that’s how the finals bound Swans will be tackling Saturday night’s clash against Gold Coast.

While the likes of Fremantle resting up to a dozen players for the final round of the home and away season, the Swans will putting the foot down and treating this weekend as do-or-die with four points securing the all-important double chance.

Both Richmond and Western Bulldogs are breathing down the Swans’ necks hoping to steal the prized top four spot.

Richmond can test themselves against fellow finals contender in North Melbourne while the Bulldogs travel to take on Brisbane.

After clinching a third-straight victory on Sunday, in the way of a dominant 97-point performance against the Saints, the Swans are building some strong form and will look to continue and build on that on Saturday night against the Suns.

More game time is on the cards for Lance Franklin after the star forward was subbed out during the third quarter against St Kilda.

Franklin will be looking to impact the scoreboard after missing the previous four weeks and after kicking the one goal before the red vest was thrown his way.

The power forward wasn’t amused and is set for a big game against the Suns, a side in which he booted three goals and collected 18 possessions is a starring role at Metricon Stadium.

Gary Rohan was Franklin’s replacement, nursed into the game in the speedster’s return from injury.

More miles in those legs will be to the benefit of the side going forward so expect the 24-year-old to be unleashed from the very first bounce on Sunday.

With only 22 spots available for week one of finals and with Swans coach John Longmire saying publicly how unlucky last week’s three omissions (Jake Lloyd, Dean Towers and James Rose) were, competition for senior selection will hit a season-high this weekend.

Experienced duo Ben McGlynn and Craig Bird are also waiting in the wings, hungry for a senior spot having strung some solid performances together in the NEAFL.
