Gary Rohan has ignited the Sydney Swans forward line since returning to the senior team, after missing the first eight rounds of the season through injury.

Rohan put in arguably his best performance of the season against Gold Coast on Saturday night, finishing the match with two goals, five marks and seven tackles.

The 24-year-old speedster has been an integral part of the Swans forward set up since returning, booting six goals in three games.

His impact on the scoreboard has been complimented with an ability to apply immense pressure in the forward 50 – even in Saturday night’s torrential rain.

Coach John Longmire said Rohan’s role was vital against the Suns.

“It was so wet so it was just an absolute battle,” Longmire said.

“Gary Rohan did a couple of really good things for us at important times and that was crucial.

“Those things in those instances are so important when it is such a slog.”

Rohan ensured he made all 19 of his disposals count against the Suns and stood out for his clean hands overhead.
