Coach John Longmire spoke with the media on Monday afternoon to wrap up our Round 1 loss and look ahead to taking on the Western Bulldogs on Friday night.

Take a look at some of the key quotes from the media conference below:

What went wrong against Port Adelaide?
We lost too many of those contests over the course of the game compared to Port Adelaide who were very good and committed around the ball. We just lost too many of them. We can’t expect in any game of football unless you are at your absolute peak that you can win those contests. We didn’t win them enough and that contributed to our loss no doubt.

Dane Rampe incident
I sat down did the game review with him about 9.30 this morning, he then went for a run with the team an hour later, jumped over a chain on the way back and landed on his arm. At the moment I've been told it looks like a five-week injury. I couldn't believe it to be honest, one of our guys from our media department saw it happen. He tried to jump the chain and mistimed his jump and fell on the concrete 25 metres from the front door (of the Swans' offices).

Dan Robinson injury
It's unfortunate because he did a really strong rehabilitation (last year), but got hit in exactly the wrong spot. He'd got back to playing some good football over the pre-season as well so he just has to get back on the horse and go again.

Aliir Aliir a chance to return
You think he would be in the mix. His senior form last year came on the back of some strong reserves form, and he hasn't displayed that kind of consistent form over the last few weeks, but he obviously has to be in the mix with Dane going out.

On run of bad luck over first fortnight
Your resilience level gets tested over the course of a season. Every club gets tested. Our test is coming at the start of the year both in our form on the weekend but also a couple of things that are also very difficult to control. You just have to make sure you bounce back and ride those levels of tests as good as you can. We come up against the Doggies this weekend on a Friday night in what is a fantastic opportunity to be able to test our resilience and make sure we come back with really strong form.

Who is in the mix to play on Friday night?
Newman and Hayward have been really good over the pre-season and were good on the weekend. Sinclair has been good. That other group coming through have been in consistent form. We will just have to sit down and have a bit of a look at it. Obviously we had a bit of late news today with Dane so we haven’t sat down to have match committee yet.
