The Sydney Swans will weigh up whether to recall ruck-forward Kurt Tippett for Thursday night’s clash with West Coast at Domain Stadium.

Tippett sprained his ankle in Round 2 against the Western Bulldogs.

Swans Head of Football Tom Harley says he’s hopeful the big man will be right to play.

“Kurt’s recovered really well. He started weight bearing and running reasonably early in the week last week, and he ran again over the weekend,” Harley said.

“He’s certainly in the mix to come back into the side. We’ve got our main training session on Tuesday before heading over to Perth, so we’ll know more then.”

Meanwhile Tom Papley is poised to come off the Club’s long-term injury list but appears unlikely to line up this week.

Papley missed most of the pre-season after suffering compartment syndrome followed by a knee injury.

Sydney’s NEAFL side has a bye this week, which is likely to delay the 20-year-old’s return.

Jarrad McVeigh, Isaac Heeney and Gary Rohan are close to a return but won’t make the trip to Perth.
