Club Champion, All Australian and Best Player in the Finals all continued to improve the standing of star midfielder Josh Kennedy among the competition's best in 2016.

The 29-year-old played 25 games during the season leading the competition for contested possessions and clearances, and finished second overall for total disposals.

The master ball winner had his full array of skills on show against Fremantle in Round 19 winning 45 disposals to go with three goals in one of the best modern day individual performances seen.

A stellar finals series was not enough to lead his side to premiership glory, but Kennedy did finish runner up in the Norm Smith Medal.

His masterful display on Grand Final day was not enough to get his side across the line but continued to showcase his standing among the best ball winners across the league.

The No. 12 received his third All Australina Guernsey, won the inagural Gary Ayres Award as best player of the finals and took out his third Bob Skilton Medal.

Kennedy polled a Club record 922 votes to take out the award, his seventh consecutive top three Club Champion finish since joining the Swans.

In his own words
“The year was obviously very successful as we had some great games, finished on top of the ladder, and had seven debutants. On the whole there were a lot of positives, and I felt like we had a lot of players playing to a really high standard. On a personal level without giving it too much thought I have had a really good and consistent year.” Josh Kennedy on SwansTV
