Sylvia sized up by the Dockers
Fremantle has emerged as the frontrunner to lure Melbourne's unrestricted free agent Colin Sylvia if he decides to leave the Demons.

Sylvia, 27, is yet to make a decision, but AFL.com.au understands the Dockers hope to add the skillful midfielder/half forward to the team that lost Saturday's Grand Final to Hawthorn.

New Melbourne coach Paul Roos has declared Sylvia a required player and the Demons expect an answer from him in the next couple of days.

Blues confident on Daisy

Carlton is increasingly confident of having restricted free agent Dale Thomas on its list for next season, after the 26-year-old passed multiple medical tests.

Blues recruiting manager Shane Rogers told Gillette Trade Radio they had put in an offer to Thomas' management and were "quietly confident" of getting the deal done.

Carlton was resigned to losing its own restricted free agent Eddie Betts though, saying the offers from Adelaide and North Melbourne exceeded their own in both money and length of contract.

Other news
Hawthorn has now ramped up its pursuit of homesick Brisbane Lions' young ruckman Billy Longer, after Mumford headed to GWS rather than the premiers.

The second pick in this year's NAB AFL Draft looks headed elsewhere after Melbourne football manager Josh Mahoney told Trade Radio it was "highly likely" to be traded.

St Kilda has hosed down speculation its senior stars Leigh Montagna and Sam Fisher are on the trade table, with list manager Ameet Baines confirming the club had not received offers for either player. North Melbourne still leads the race for free agent, Nick Dal Santo, although they have not put an offer forward to the Saints.
Swans lock up Perris
The Sydney Swans have locked up academy star Lloyd Perris on a two-year rookie deal, News Limited reports.
Perris was the player at the centre of the rift between Swans chairman Richard Colless and premiership coach Paul Roos.
Colless accused Roos – the then Swans Academy boss - of trying to poach Perris once he was instated as Melbourne's coach.
The midfielder was named All-Australian in this year's national championships.
Mummy on the move
Greater Western Sydney has landed its first big fish with premiership ruckman Shane Mumford on the way to Skoda Stadium.

While a deal still needs to be struck between the two Sydney clubs – likely to be a late draft pick or even a free pick-up in the pre-season draft – Mumford has signed a lucrative three-year deal.

The 27-year-old was squeezed out of the Swans after its big offer to lure Hawthorn superstar Lance Franklin earlier in the week.
