Making news at the Sydney Swans this week …

The Swans head south to take on the Tigers at the MCG but will be without Dan Robinson.

Robinson has consulted a surgeon after dislocating his shoulder in the win over Essendon.

The 21-year-old will undergo shoulder surgery and will be sidelined for 12-14 weeks, meaning he could return for the latter part of the season.

But the Swans could regain Ted Richards for the match, after the veteran defender was declared available for selection following his recovery from a fractured eye socket.

Meanwhile the match against Richmond will mark game number 50 in the red and white for Jeremy Laidler.
