The Sydney Swans have named a debutant among four changes to the side to face Fremantle at Optus Stadium on Saturday night.

Hayden McLean, Ryley Stoddart, Robbie Fox and Ryan Clarke come into the side to replace Harry Cunningham (groin), Jordan Dawson (suspended), Ben Ronke and Kieren Jack.

McLean has been named to play his first game at AFL level after being selected under pre-season supplementary list rules.

Sydney coach John Longmire said McLean was highly deserving of his debut.

“He was picked up in the pre-season and it's been great to have him as part of our footy club from the start of the year," Longmire told QBE Team Selection.

“He is a real competitor who plays both forward and in the ruck and has been playing some really good football for us in our NEAFL side.

“It is always exciting to tell a young player that he is playing his first game of AFL football and particularly a player who has missed a few drafts.”

Meanwhile, Stoddart has been named for his first game of 2019, and Fox and Clarke have been recalled to the side.
