Sydney has made it three wins from three games to start the season after defeating Euro-Yroke 5.8 (38) to 1.9 (15) at C.ex Coffs International Stadium in Coffs Harbour on Saturday.
The Saints had periods of dominance through the match but couldn't capitalise on the scoreboard and now sit on the ladder's lower rungs without a victory.
The opening term belonged to Euro-Yroke as the Swans failed to make any impression on the scoreboard by the first break, but a dominance in play wasn't made the most of as the Saints also went goalless, kicking four behinds.
The second quarter saw a flip in the power play with Sydney controlling the ball and taking momentum and an 11-point lead into half-time.
A dour contest unfolded through the third with the only major score coming in the dying seconds of the term through Montana Ham, who was proving to be the Swans' best.
Despite being goalless to the final break Euro-Yroke was still in the contest just three goals behind, and that faint sniff of an upset saw them fly out of the gates with five minutes of complete control, except for in the most important part - kicking for goal.
Jesse Tawhiao-Wardlaw looked like changing the course of the match with two strong marks, but missed the subsequent set shots, and was followed by Georgia Patrikios also sending the ball through the behinds.
When Tawhiao-Wardlaw's third attempt from a mark sailed across the face to be cleared by Sydney's defence the air went out of the Saints' comeback hopes.
To make matters worse for Nick Dal Santo's side, Alice Burke went down with a knee injury and will be sent for scans to
assess the damage in coming days.
Last-second sizzler
The third quarter looked like going by without a goal being scored at either end of the ground, and with only two on the board for the match to that stage. However, Montana Ham wasn't going to let that be the case, the gun Swan setting sail to a long bomb that flew through the big sticks as the clock counted down to 00:00.
