Bio

Craig grew up as a passionate South Melbourne supporter and became President of the Club in 1975, a position he held until the end of the 1977 season.  He is a former Commissioner of the AFL (1997-1999) and a Life Member of both the Sydney Swans and the AFL. His company, Just Jeans, was a significant sponsor of the Sydney Swans, and in 1988 he was one of the major shareholders who bought the licence to own and operate the Club. Craig served on the Sydney Swans Board from 1989 to 1994 and joined the Board of the Sydney Swans Foundation in 2006. From 1977 to 1979 he met the difference between the Club’s financial obligations to players and what it could actually pay. Following the finals in 1977, he treated all players and partners to an end of season trip to Fiji in an endeavour to keep the group together in the face of raids from other Clubs. Craig Kimberley was the first non-player or coach to be inducted into the Swans Hall of Fame.
