The Sydney Swans VFL side suffered a heart-breaking 2-point defeat to the Gold Coast Suns on Friday night in Round 2 at Blacktown International Sportspark.

Holding a 17-point lead at the 12-minute mark of the final term, the Gold Coast Suns stormed home to take a lead with less than a minute to play. Two goals each to Suns' James Tsitas and Malcolm Rosas, the final major coming after a terrific tackle and set shot from near the boundary where he scored his fourth major to secure the come from behind victory for the away side.

Swans draftee Matt Roberts impressed, finishing with 31 possessions and five clearances in his second game, Ryan Clarke (33 disposals, 11 clearances, seven inside-50s, five tackles) knocked up winning the footy again, James Bell had one of his best games with 29 touches and first-round pick Gus Sheldrick had 23 and seven tackles.

Forward Logan McDonald was strong up from with eight marks and four goals in an imposing display while young ruck Lachlan McAndrew kicked three on his near namesake Mac Andrew.

Ben Ronke backed up after being called in as a medi-sub in Thursday's AFL clash with the Western Bulldogs to kick two goals while Peter Ladhams, Sam Reid, Marc Sheather, Sheldrick, Callum Sinclair and Lewis Taylor also kicked goals.
