Sydney Swans v North Melbourne - Round Four
Saturday, April 9. 2:40pm
SCG

INS: Peter Ladhams, Justin McInerney, Sam Reid
OUTS: Tom Hickey (injured), Dylan Stephens (omitted), Joel Amartey (omitted).

The Sydney Swans have made three changes to the team ahead of their round 4 fixture against North Melbourne at the SCG on Saturday afternoon.

Peter Ladhams will make his debut in the red and white when he comes into the side for an injured Tom Hickey.

“Peter had a bit of a rough pre-season, but we’ve been working on a few things and he’s been able to get back into the training group. The reason we recruited him is to be able to play that ruck role, to be able to get around the ground and bring some various structure to the group as well. We think he’ll play a valuable role for this team,” says Longmire.

The Swans will also be boosted by the return of Justin McInerney from injury, as well as Sam Reid.

“Joel Amartey and Dylan Stephens are out of the team, and coming back into the team is Sam Reid and Justin McInerney,” says Longmire.

“It’s great to get Justin McInerney back in the side. He played the first game, but in the last 30 seconds he suffered bone bruising, so he’s missed the last couple of weeks. He brings a lot of energy to the team, but he’s also an important player in regards to our structure.

"He knows what’s going on around the footy ground, and he helps others do their role so he’s a really important inclusion.”

The Swans will be hunting their third victory for the season, as they look to bounce back from an 11-point defeat to the Western Bulldogs.

“The Doggies were very good. Even though with a minute to go we could have got over the line, the Doggies were the better team on the night,"

"We need to get back to what we did in the first two weeks which means returning to a strong running game and contested game against a team who we know are really good with clearances. We need to make sure we get on top of that area.”
