Australian wine company Bird in Hand has joined the Sydney Swans as the Premier Partner of the Sydney Swans AFLW Team, the AFLW Coaches Partner and the Official Wine of the football club.

Bird in Hand, a family-owned winery that champions social inclusion and advocacy, will partner the club for the 2022 and 2023 AFLW seasons.

Sydney Swans AFLW coach Scott Gowans said it’s great to have Bird in Hand on board from the club’s first season in the competition.

“It’s great to have a sponsorship arrangement with Bird in Hand and I think it will be really well appreciated by everyone,” Gowans said.

“It’s these types of sponsorships that make a big difference to a program because it shows that people are invested in what we are doing. They are interested in our story and we are interested in theirs and together we can form a really good partnership.”

As part of the partnership, the Sydney Swans will be collaborating with Bird in Hand on a premium AFLW membership package featuring Bird in Hand product, which members can enjoy at the Sydney Swans home games this season at North Sydney Oval and Henson Park.

“There’s going to be a great buzz around the local grounds and to be able to have a wine and relax on the hill and watch the football will be a great match day experience for our members,” Gowans said.

As Official Wine Partner of the Sydney Swans, the Bird in Hand Foundation aims to create awareness on initiatives that help young athletes and creatives, actively advocating First Nation and gender equality.

Bird in Hand Founder Andrew Nugent said it’s a privilege to be joining the Sydney Swans women’s team for its first season.

“Through our support, we hope to inspire thousands of young athletes to chase their dreams and break the barriers of gender stereotypes, a cause that is close to Bird in Hand’s identity.”
