Chuck Kavalec might be the Sydney Swans ‘Nominate a Mate’ winner for 2012, but he insists it was his daughters who did all the work.
Kavalec, with the help of his two daughters Sienna and Jacqui, have successfully recruited 33 new Swans members this season.
“I’ve been able to recruit so many people through my kids,” he said.
“My kids love going to the games and they get to invite a friend, and they love it so much that they bug their parents with my assistance.
“I always put out the good word, and we’ve taken some other adults and they’ve seen how family friendly going to the football is, and it’s a lot of fun.”
Kavalec’s recruiting efforts have been rewarded with the Swans fan receiving Grand Final tickets, including accommodation in Melbourne, as well as a signed Swans guernsey.
Kavalec said he will be taking his brother-in-law to this year’s big game.
“(My brother-in-law) actually organised tickets to the 2006 Grand Final for me, when we lost by one point and I was devastated,” he said.
“Hopefully the Swans will make it again this year.”
Kavalec is not the only Swans supporter who can be rewarded for recruiting new members to the club.
Sydney Swans fans can still get involved in the Nominate a Mate program by recruiting friends and family to 3-Game Membership packages, starting from just $78 for an adult or $155 for a family.
All 2012 Swans members have been automatically placed into the draw to win a Volkswagen Polo Trendline valued at up to $21,490 (incl. on road costs).
However, members who participate in the Nominate a Mate competition and recruit mates to join them as Sydney Swans members in 2012 will gain an extra entry into the draw to win this fantastic prize.
For every mate who purchases a membership you’ll receive an additional entry into the draw to win.
