Get the latest on our injured players on the eve of our Qualifying Final against Melbourne Demons.

General Overview

The AFL squad trained over the weekend in preparation for the Qualifying Final this Friday night against Melbourne.

All players completed the session without issues.

Meanwhile, the VFL team played against Casey in a Qualifying Final on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, Lewis Melican sustained a hamstring strain in the final quarter of the game. It is the same hamstring which Lewis injured in the VFL in Round 21. He will be assessed further this week to determine his prognosis and best management. 

Tom Papley

Tom sustained a concussion in the second quarter against St Kilda in Round 23.

He is currently being managed as per the AFL Concussion Guidelines  and is expected to be available to play against Melbourne on Friday night.

Nick Blakey

Nick was involved in a significant collision in the third quarter of the game against St Kilda.

 He received some stitches for a laceration, however, has recovered without any complications.  

Josh Kennedy

Josh is continuing to progress his hamstring rehabilitation.

He is completing conditioning running and rehabilitation skills, with a view to commencing modified team skills early next week. 

Marc Sheather

Marc is now three months POST his navicular operation. He is being reviewed by the surgeon this week.
