McEvoy lands in the red and white having played 33 games for Carlton, after making her debut in Round 1, 2020.

Originally pick No.2 overall in the 2019 draft, McEvoy has spent most of her time in the midfield and played every game but one in season 2022.

The 21-year-old said she can’t wait to get to Sydney to start a new chapter.

“I’m very excited. It's an amazing opportunity to be playing for the Sydney Swans and getting up to a new state, new environment, new club, new people, all of it!”, said McEvoy.

“After speaking to the Swans a couple of times, the program they have put together is really well run and the people they have in the program are really passionate about it.

Sydney Swans Executive General Manager – AFLW, Kate Mahony, said she’s thrilled to welcome a player of McEvoy’s ability.

“Lucy is an experienced AFLW player with great leadership capabilities. She will add strength in the contest and bring other players into the game,” said Mahony.

“Her ability and knowledge of playing at this elite level will be invaluable for our young group. We are looking forward to welcoming Lucy to Sydney.”

McEvoy follows Chloe Molloy in committing to the red and white through the AFLW Priority Signing Period.
