The Sydney Swans have made three changes to the club’s AFLW playing list with Tiarne Cavanagh, Sarah Skinner and Sarah Dargan told they will not be offered contracts for the upcoming season.

Cavanagh joined the Swans after an impressive career in Rugby 7’s, and from the moment she arrived at the club she brought an elite athlete mindset to the program, resulting in her AFLW debut against the Giants in round 3.

Skinner joined our inaugural AFLW team from North Melbourne and made an immediate impact, playing in 8 games in our first season, and booting a goal in our first match at North Sydney Oval. She also contributed to the club off the field in her role in the membership team.

Dargan joined the Swans from Richmond’s AFLW team and leaves the club having played 34 career games. She played a key role in the Sydney forward line demonstrating a wealth of experience which was invaluable to a developing team.

Sydney’s Executive GM Football – AFLW, Kate Mahony, has thanked all three players for their service.

“We wish Tiarne, Sarah and Sarah all the best for their future endeavours. They should all be congratulated for their commitment and dedication to making the Sydney Swans AFLW program a better place,” Mahony said.

“These decisions are never easy, and we will continue to support each of them at this time.

“On behalf of the Swans I would like to thank them for their service, they will forever be valuable members of our inaugural AFLW team.”
