The Sydney Swans are heading to Adelaide this weekend for the inaugural Gather Round, in one of nine matches across Adelaide Oval and Norwood. Corey Warner set to debut

Sydney Swans midfielder Corey Warner is set to to make his debut this Friday night, when the Sydney Swans face Richmond in AFL’s Gather Round at Adelaide Oval.

We’ve given an opportunity to Corey Warner this week who will play his first game of AFL footy. It’s exciting for him to get a taste and run out with his brother Chad and hopefully we can come home with a really strong result," coach John Longmire said in a press conference this afternoon (April 12). 

Corey Warner was recruited as Pick 40 of the 2021 NAB AFL Draft and is the brother of teammate Chad Warner.

Meet the Swans at Gather Round

Heading to Adelaide for Gather Round? See the Sydney Swans up close and in action at an open training and Captains Run at St Peter’s College from 2:30pm this Thursday, April 13.

There will merchandise available for purchase and at conclusion of the session, players will be available to take photos and sign autographs.

At the Festival of Footy in Elder Park a selection of our coaching staff will take to the big stage from 4:00pm for a rare Q+A ahead of the Friday night match.

Lance Franklin to miss Richmond clash

Head of Physiotherapy and Medical Services Damian Raper provided an update on the injury list on Tuesday (April 11) ahead of Round 5.

Lance Franklin will miss the upcoming game following a knock to the knee in the last quarter against Port Adelaide. Meanwhile, a number of players will return to match play in the coming weeks including Ryan Clarke and Tom Hickey.

Parker and Lloyd reach new milestone as teammates

Luke Parker and Jake Lloyd are expected to reach a new milestone in Round 5, playing their 200th game together as teammates.

The Swans veterans sit in the 2023 leadership group.

Parker made his debut for the club in 2011 while Lloyd first appeared in the red and white in 2014. The duo boasts a combined 468 games played.
