Sydney Swans duo Robbie Fox and Justin McInerney will make their returns against the Collingwood Magpies at the MCG this Sunday afternoon, while Marc Sheather has also been named after making his AFL debut last week.

The Swans will look to avenge their heart-breaking defeat to GWS last week against an in-form Magpies outfit, with coach John Longmire hoping his side can bring the same level of intensity from start to finish.

"They are sitting on top of the and doing a lot right. They are a really experienced team and play a distinct brand of footy," Longmire said.

"They are going really well. It will be a great challenge fro us and we need to play the full game out this week.

"Our effort and intensity last week was fantastic. Our contested ball, pressure numbers, inside 50s - those type of things that are really important were at a healthy level.

"We just need to make sure we finish the game off really strongly."

Longmire also lauded the Magpies' efforts to salvage some last-gasp victories in recent weeks, but is confident the Bloods are up for the challenge.

“They’ve got a system, but they also have belief," Longmire said in a Wednesday press conference. 

"Their record of being behind at three-quarter time and coming over the top of teams stands out. There’s no question about that."
