We’re returning to the SCG this Friday for a massive double-header against Geelong. The VFL will kick off the evening in a curtain raiser from 4:05pm before John Longmire’s side take on the Cats from 7:50pm.

John Longmire: "We need to put our best foot forward."

Senior coach John Longmire has put Round 15 to the side and is looking ahead to Friday night's clash with Geelong.

Speaking to the media this week, Longmire said, "We know what Geelong can do, we know they’re a really good team but we’re also confident in what we can do. A new opportunity and game this week. We need to put our best foot forward.”

Down Syndrome NSW to be Match Day Partner in Round 16

Down Syndrome NSW has been named as this week’s Match Day Inclusion Partner as part of the club’s Diversity Action Plan. DSNSW will take part in the Swans Guard of Honour on game day and run onto the ground with the team as Junior Mascots.

Three more for Joel Amartey

Overnight it was announced that Joel Amartey extended his commitment to the Sydney Swans until at least the end of the 2026 season, signing a three-year contract extension.

The 23-year-old forward was picked up by the red and white with pick 28 in the 2018 AFL Rookie draft and has played 20 senior games to date.

“It’s unbelievable, these boys have become like my brothers and the coaches and staff have been wonderful for my first six years here, I just love this place,” Amartey told Sydney Swans Media.

Heritage Round and Open Training in Round 17

We’re celebrating Heritage Week in Round 17 as we look back on the proud history of the Sydney Swans and South Melbourne Football Club.

To celebrate, we will be hosting an open Captain’s Run session at the MCG ahead of our clash with Richmond. Coinciding with the school holidays, kids, families, Swans members and fans are invited to watch the team train up close, get photos and autographs with your favourite players.
