The Sydney Swans have confirmed their team to host Carlton on Saturday afternoon with members and fans able to cheer their team on for the first time in 2023.

New Co-Captains Chloe Molloy and Lucy McEvoy will lead the team onto the SCG for the very first time, while Irish trio Tanya Kennedy, Julie O'Sullivan and Paris McCarthy will also don the red and white.

Last year's Best and Fairest Winner Cynthia Hamilton will also feature, although last year's number one Draft Pick, Montana Ham, has been ruled out with a foot injury.

Head Coach Scott Gowans said he was impressed with his sides opening hit-out against the Gold Coast Suns, but wants to see more of a four-quarter effort. 

"I was really happy with how we went about the first three quarters. I think we had really good intent, and we stuck to our principles which was really important for us," Gowans said.

"We want to make sure that we are competitive in every game we play, and for us we just want to play our own brand, but be willing to adapt when things don't go our way.

"We want to see players who are able to fit in our system and can trust that what we are doing, works.

"I'm really excited by the challenge of Carlton and hopefully we see some red and white in the crowd on Saturday."

The practice match will be the first and last official game before the season starts on Sunday, 3 September, with the Swans starting their new campaign with back-to-back games at North Sydney Oval.
