Our new Marn Grook guernsey

Last week we unveiled a new Marn Grook Guernsey to be worn in Round 10 and 11 of the AFL season.

The guernsey was  designed by proud Yuin artist Richard Campbell in conjunction with our ARA First Nations Foundations program.

Richard, who is the uncle of former Sydney Swans player James Bell, joined kids who took part in cultural sessions as part of the inaugural ARA First Nations Foundations in Shellharbour. He worked with the kids to design an artwork that was later chosen to be adapted for this year’s guernsey.

The Sydney Swans 2024 Nike Mens Indigenous Guernsey is available to purchase from the Swanshop, here.

Injury Update

In this week's injury update it was confirmed Tom McCartin will miss this week's clash with Carlton after sustaining a head knock in Round 8 against GWS. He has commenced rehabilitation in line with the league protocols.

Meanwhile, Callum Mills is building his running volume and will commence agility work this week as he recovers from his calf strain. It is progressing as expected.

Longmire: "It's been good to get some reward for effort."

Ahead of this week's game senior coach John Longmire appeared in a press conference. When asked to comment on our ladder position, Longmire said he was pleased, but noted the challenge continues.

“It's been good to get some reward for effort, but it's been the way we've been able to do it," Longmire told journalists.

"But it's about making sure you keep on backing it up, and that's what our challenge is every week. There's always areas of the game that we can get better at.”
