Sydney Derby XXX

It's the 30th installment of the Sydney Derby this Sunday, with the Swans looking to make it 20 wins to the Giants' 10. 

It will be an unmissable game, as both teams vie for bragging rights in the Harbour City.

Swans legend Jude Bolton will present the Derby Cup to the Swans if they win, and the player deemed to be the best on the ground after the match will be awarded the Brett Kirk Medal.

James Rowbottom: "It's a fierce competition, and there is a rivalry..."

Swans midfielder James Rowbottom spoke to the media on Thursday (May 1), alongside GWS's Harry Himmelberg.

Heeney relives last year's Qualifying Final win over GWS

Last time they met, Sydney recorded a six-point victory over the Giants in last year's Qualifying Final at the SCG.  

Gun midfielder Isaac Heeney took an incredible mark in what was a fantastic performance from the 28-year-old, where he recorded 30 disposals and kicked three goals.

Injury Update

Sam Wicks pulled up tight from the main training session last week, and scans confirmed a minor calf strain. He missed last week's clash with the Gold Coast and will be a test to play this week against GWS.

Callum Mills is still rehabilitating from his plantar fascia tear and did not complete all the training required last week for him to be available for selection. He will aim to complete team training this week. 

AFLW set for final off-season hitout before pre-season

The Swans AFLW side will travel to Adelaide this weekend for one final practice match against the Crows and Lions. As the AFLW off-season comes to a close and the players prepare to hit the ground running in the upcoming pre-season, a contingent of the squad will be in action on Saturday at AAMI Stadium from 12.45pm (AEST).
