In what was a disappointing afternoon for the Sydney Swans, three players earned votes from the coaches.
Sydney suffered an eight-point loss to Essendon on Saturday, after it's second half comeback fell short.
Midfielder Chad Warner topped the votes for Sydney, earning six votes for his 25 disposals and four tackles.
Nick Blakey was prolific, earning one vote for his run and dash off the half back. The defender had five intercept marks to quarter time and had 22 disposals for the game.
Fellow defender Tom McCartin had a career-best 15 disposals and six intercept marks, to round out the vote getters.
The AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.
