On travelling to Perth

"Really excited about going to WA. I think the opportunity to finish off the year as well as we possibly can is something we want to make sure we get right. We address that with the players and hopefully that result comes from the effort we've put in this week and the way we prepare."

On the familiar faces at West Coast

"I think any time, when I first moved here as an assistant, you always have fond memories of your time at one footy club and I love West Coast for every opportunity they gave me. They are the enemy this week and that's one thing that I'll make sure I prepare as well as I possibly can and make sure the players are prepared as well as they can be. You say hello to a few of them if they're still at the football club, but we've got a job to do."

On the motivation for the final game of the season

"I think they've got to have pride in their performance and that was one thing we spoke about post the Geelong game. For the last quarter and a half we didn't have that. So, we need to address that part of the game and for the 10 quarters before that the players were actually quite good and competed really well against some quality opposition. So, we need to make sure that we're well aware of what West Coast want to do. We need to finish off as well as we can."

On West Coast's ladder position

"No, we don't touch on where they sit on the ladder. We touch on them, we looked really closely at them against Adelaide. In the last two weeks they've pressured as well as any team in the competition. So, what our players need to expect is what we've delivered to them. The results will take care of themselves. That's always been a big thing about the process, not the outcome."

On Brodie Grundy

"Yeah, he's just got to get through training this morning. So, yeah, he trained at the start of the week, over the weekend, did everything he has to do. Just has to tick off today and then he'll be available."

On whether some players get rested this week

"No, not at all. One thing we spoke to the playing group after, probably the Giants game was let's finish off as well as we can and that's with personnel as well. So, we want to make sure that Dane will get on the trip and he'll fly and our experienced players will still go. If they pulled up sore or they weren't available through injury, well then they don't play. (4:29) So, that's the same as we look at every week and this week's no different."

On Dane Rampe

"I had a good chat to him this morning as normal that I do every week. Nothing changes with certainly my dialogue about how can he perform best for the team. It's always going to be at the end of the year we sit down properly and nut it out. But, you know, he's played some really quality football in the back half of the year and excited to see him going forward."

On whether he has confidence in the group for next season

"I think we've got a really strong core group of players that can do what's required. We need to make sure that we have a really strong off-season period. We have a longer break than we've had in a long time. We need to maximise that and then when they're back, continually work on things that are going to make us improve as a team."

On Charlie Curnow

"He's still got four years in the blue. So, and that's the part as well, is that there's a lot of things that get said in hypotheticals. You know, we concentrate on what we can and he's a contracted player."
