On comparing this season to last
"It doesn't really sit right with a lot of us, but the last couple of weeks, knowing that we can't make finals, we've done a few things in place, done a bit of work to hopefully prepare us for the next year as well."
On motivation for the final game of the season
"I think we've always got motivation for every game, but coming over here against a hostile crowd is the first part. Wanting to finish on a great note, and I guess try a few things, play the way we want to play and just finish off well."
On what has gone right in the second half of the season
"I think obviously getting a few boys back helps, but just the way we're able to connect a lot better with each other out on the ground, and the way our roles, we've doubled down on our roles a lot better. I think those slipped a little bit probably in the first half, and our game plan was probably not as seamless as it probably was last year. We kind of flowed a lot more, so I think just that connection and flow is probably the main part."
On being back in WA after signing with the Swans
"It's good to just kind of relax a bit and just play... it's good we can just go out and get the job done without [the noise] as well."
On pressure with the two year extension
"There's always pressure to perform all the time, so there's probably a new pressure...I guess as a player you're just kind of always trying to mitigate that and always trying to find a new pressure really."
On what the team is expecting from West Coast
"I'm expecting it to be a massive contest. The last couple of weeks their tackles have been up enormously and they've played great defensively I think. When you watched them against Adelaide, just their will to defend and scramble and use their numbers, they handballed really well and kind of damaged Adelaide for most of the game."
On Angus Sheldrick signing with Swans
"He's been great. I think the way he's kind of just slowly developed has been amazing throughout midfield. He's going to be so valuable going forward and he always wanted to be able to stick around at the Swans and kind of break his way in.
He never wanted to take the easy way out and go somewhere where he would have got an easy game. But he's very happy here and we're very happy to have him as well."
The Sydney Swans play the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium this Saturday from 5:35pm AWST / 7:35pm AEST. Visit the Match Day Hub for more game day details.
