The Sydney Swans AFLW squad are back in action at Henson Park on Sunday, September 7 for an Indigenous Round clash with Walyalup (Fremantle). And just in case you missed it, it’s also Father’s Day.
Forget gifting Hawaiian shirts and boxer shorts. What Dad really wants this September is a day out at the footy and here is why.
1. Budget, but not boring
Looking for a budget-friendly gift? Tickets to the AFLW are only $15 for adults and people under 18 can attend FREE. It’s the perfect day out for the whole family.

2. Celebrate Indigenous Round
The match coincides with Indigenous Round, a celebration of First Nations culture and the athletes that make the game great, including legends like Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin and our new recruit Zippy Fish.
The team will wear our 2025 Marn Grook guernsey which debuted in the AFL’s Sir Doug Nicholls Round earlier this year. Learn more, HERE.
3. There’s something for everyone
There’s something for everyone at Sydney Swans home games, and Henson Park is no exception. Think offerings from White Bay Brewery, Bird in Hand (plus more local brewers thanks to the Music Booze Co.) food trucks, activities for the kids and giveaways.
4. Prime time footy for the in-demand Dad
We get it, Father’s Day can get pretty busy. Luckily, first bounce isn’t until 1:05pm. So say yes to breakfast in the morning before heading to Henson Park in the afternoon. It’s the best of both worlds.
