The Sydney Swans AFLW team are off to a flying start and host Walyalup (Fremantle) at Henson Park on Sunday. Hear from assistant coach Tanya Hetherington to get her thoughts on the top talking points this week.

A thrilling win over Geelong on the weekend, what were the main takeaways from the match?

It was a tough match as we expected but one that we took a lot of learnings from. We would have liked to have started the game better but it took a lot of grit to recover from that and play the way we want to play to give ourselves the opportunity to win.

Which players should members and fans look for this Sunday?

I think there are exciting players to look for everywhere in this team! Look for Jas Grierson to patrol the backline on a ground she is very familiar with!

The team is returning to Henson Park, what is the best part of playing there?

It is such a great atmosphere at Hensen Park, whether you are on the hill or in the grandstand, we absolutely love playing there in front of all of our fans and having it really feel like a home ground advantage.

Darcy Moloney will play her 50th AFLW game this weekend, what has she brought to the side since joining the team this season?

It’s fantastic for Darcy to reach this milestone. She has bought great skill,  a level of experience and a lot of footy smarts, with an ability to play across multiple lines, she’s added to the versatility we like to have in our team and she’s slotted in nicely.

Alice Mitchell will play her 25th AFLW game, what’s her contribution to the side been?

Alice has really taken her game to a new level in the last 2 seasons. She leaves no stone unturned in trying to become the best player she can be and that is showing in her defensive craft and ability to shutdown a dangerous opponent each and every week
