The Sydney Swans have made two further list changes, informing Aaron Francis and Blake Leidler they will not be offered new contracts with the club for the 2026 season.
Francis arrived at the Swans at the beginning of the 2023 season via a trade with Essendon, having previously played 54 games for the Bombers. He played 30 AFL games with the Swans in his three seasons at the club, both in defence and up forward. Francis also played a pivotal role in Sydney’s VFL side, playing 23 games.
Leidler was taken with pick 14 of the 2024 Telstra AFL Rookie Draft from the Oakleigh Chargers and featured in 16 VFL games this season.
Sydney Swans Executive General Manger – AFL Football, Leon Cameron, wished both Francis and Leidler all the best.
“I want to thank Aaron and Blake for their contributions to our football club,” Cameron said.
“Since arriving at the club a few years ago, Aaron in particular has played an extremely important role in adding experience and versatility to our senior side. He was also a very valuable contributor when he played VFL footy, helping develop our younger athletes.
“Blake was a solid contributor in our VFL side this season, and I thank him for his commitment to our program since arriving in Sydney.
“I wish both boys the very best for their futures,” Cameron said.
