Sydney Swans utility Julie O’Sullivan will miss the remainder of the 2025 AFLW season after she ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee during Saturday’s match against Collingwood.

O’Sullivan was involved in a contest during the final quarter at Victoria Park and did not return to the field.

Sydney Swans Executive General Manager – AFLW Football, Amanda Turner, said O’Sullivan would undergo reconstructive surgery.

“It’s really tough news for Julie and the team,” Turner said.

“Julie has been a consistent performer in our side since she arrived from Ireland in 2023, so it’s disappointing that her year has been cut short.

“She has our full support, and we’ll wrap our arms around her as she attacks her recovery and rehab over the coming months.”
