The versatile Joel Hamling has re-signed with the Sydney Swans for another season, tying him to the red and white until at least the end of 2026.

Hamling arrived in the Harbour City after stints with Geelong, the Western Bulldogs and Fremantle. He has played 14 AFL games with the Swans in his two seasons, along with 21 in the VFL.

The 32-year-old is known for his ability to play at both ends of the ground. In particular, his work in defence has been a highlight with Sydney, alongside the likes of Tom McCartin.

Sydney Swans Executive General Manager of AFL Football, Leon Cameron, said Hamling is an important member of the squad.

“Joel is a very versatile player who played on some of the league’s best forwards last season and did extremely well. We are excited about him continuing for another year,” Cameron said.
