Sydney superstar Isaac Heeney has reaffirmed his status as one of the AFL’s elite players, claiming the 2025 Bob Skilton Medal, his second consecutive Club Champion title.

The Swans’ Club Champion took place on Thursday night in a glittering event at the ICC Sydney in Darling Harbour.

Building on the momentum of his stellar 2024 campaign, 29-year-old Heeney took his game to new heights in 2025, edging out ruckman Brodie Grundy and on-baller James Jordon to claim top honours. Heeney finished with 253 points, narrowly ahead of Grundy with 238 points and Jordon on 188 points.

Heeney played 23 games this year, averaging 24 disposals and almost two goals a game. He also polled 17 Brownlow votes last Monday night, and secured a third All-Australian blazer, cementing his place amongst the AFL’s A-Graders.

Sydney Swans senior coach Dean Cox reflected on Heeney's effort and consistency this season.

“Isaac had another brilliant year, and he now sits among some of the greats of this footy club, having won another Club Champion,” Cox said.

“His ability to perform and change the outcome of the game in multiple positions is something very few can do.

“Everyone notices his goals and spectacular marks, but Isaac’s ability to defend and compete at the contest is just as impressive.”

While much of the spotlight was fixed on Heeney, ruckman Brodie Grundy took home the Adam Goodes Trophy as runner-up after a magnificent season. Grundy was a pillar of consistency, averaging 37 hit outs and 20 disposals per game in 2025. His dominance around the stoppages was a driving force this season, earning him selection in the All-Australian Squad of 40.

James Jordon claimed the Peter Bedford Trophy for third place behind Heeney and Grundy. Jordon was trusted with tagging some of the competition's best midfielders, but this did not stop to his ability to press forward and kick goals.
