The full Sydney Swans squad returned to training on Monday at Moore Park as the countdown to the team's Opening Round match on Thursday March 7 against Carlton gets closer.

The 1-4 year players returned a fortnight ago and senior players attended several sessions in an informal capacity in the last two weeks, but the full squad was formally on deck for the first time today.

The day started with a 2km time trial at Centennial Park where the pace was set with a total of nine players hitting personal bests.

31-year old Jake Lloyd stormed home to claim first place with 2025 Bob Skilton Medallist Isaac Heeney just behind him in second, with tall forward Hayden McLean in third.

In his 15th pre-season with the club, 35-year old Dane Rampe ran a personal best time in fourth position with Errol Gulden rounding out the top five.

Ruck Brodie Grundy also ran well and was the biggest improver across the group while third-placed Hayden McLean also had significant improvement on previous years.

From there the squad headed to Bat and Ball Oval for a skills session.

It was the first training for new Swans draftees Harry Kyle, Max King, Billy Cootee, Jevan Phillipou, Noah Chamberlain and Liam Hetherton.

Cootee, who was drafted to the Swans at pick 42 from Norwood said he was enjoying his introduction to the Swans program.

"The boys have been super welcoming and I'm rapt to be here," Cootee said.

"I am really excited to get stuck in it."
