The Sydney Swans have officially launched the upcoming season with a glittering event at the Basil Sellers Richard Colless Centre, Sydney Swans HQ, for the club’s 2026 AFL Guernsey Presentation night.
The event comes just 17 days before Opening Round where the Swans will take on Carlton in front of a huge crowd at the SCG on March 5.
Former Swans captain and fan-favourite Josh Kennedy presented nine players with their first red and white guernsey. Malcolm Rosas, Jai Serong, Charlie Curnow, Harry Kyle, Jevan Phillipou, Billy Cootee, Max King, Noah Chamberlain and Liam Hetherton were on hand to receive their jumpers from the club legend.
It also was announced on the night that Karen James will take the baton as the Sydney Swans Number One Ticket Holder in 2026. James has been a member of the Swans since 2004 and is also a life member of AFL Sydney, where her impact spanned from an impressive playing career through to serving as Sydney Women’s AFL President.
Swans Captain Callum Mills addressed the 200 people in attendance while second year coach Dean Cox also spoke of his excitement about the looming season.
“To the new boys in our team who are receiving jumpers tonight, you are all now part of the Bloods family,” Cox said.
“You are the next crop of players who are representing over 1400 past players who have worn this jumper with pride, treasure it. Go out and make your family proud.
“I cannot wait for Opening Night against Carlton. Thanks for the support and bring on 2026.”
