Sydney's team to take on the Box Hill Hawks in Melbourne on Friday afternoon has been confirmed.

It will be the Swans first match under new VFL coach Nick Malceski, the past Premiership player and Swans Hall of Famer returning to the club over the off-season.

It will be our Melbourne Members and fans second chance to see the red and white in action, with the AFL team playing at the MCG on Thursday night against the Hawks, before the VFL side run out the next day.

Several AFL-listed Swans will make their return from injury through the VFL, including Tom Hanily, who played modified minutes in the VFL practice match against GWS Giants last week, as he recovers from his shin stress reaction.

Young Swans Jesse Dattoli and Jevan Phillipou will also line up in the side alongside veterans Harry Cunningham and Taylor Adams, with all four working their way back from injuries sustained over the pre-season. 

Draftees Harry Kyle, Noah Chamberlain and Liam Hetherton have also been named, alongside talls Peter Ladhams, Will Green, Hayden McLean, Joel Hamling and Will Edwards.

The side will also feature a host of VFL-listed talent, including Max Geddes who will line up across half back and Nic Shipley who has been named to start in the middle.

The Swans finished 18th in 2025, with five wins and 13 losses. 

Sydney takes on the Box Hill Hawks on Friday, March 20 at the Kennedy Community Centre at 12:35pm.
