The Sydney Swans VFL side’s four match winning streak came to an end at the hands of a lively North Melbourne team at Arden Street on Saturday afternoon.

The Swans took a 5-point lead into the final term but it was the Kangaroos who came home strong, kicking 4.5 to the Swans two goals to secure at 12-point win.

Corey Warner was the standout for the Swans with 36 disposals and four goals and six tackles while Caiden Cleary (37 disposals) and Peter Ladhmas (28 disposals and 22 hitouts) continued their strong VFL form.

It was an even contest from the get-go, albeit a low scoring affair at Arden Street with the Swans kicking just one goal to the Kangaroos’ two in the first quarter.

A three-goal to one second quarter saw the Swans take a narrow lead into the main break and it was Warner who was leading the way for the swans at half time with 21 disposals and two goals to the break.

Swans forward Mitch Mellis was lively in the third term with back-to-back goals and a clever finish by Jevan Phillipou gave the Swans the advantage at three quarter time before the Roos came home strong.

Mellis finished with a game-high eight tackles to go with his two goals, he was the only multiple goal-kicker alongside Warner's haul of four.

The loss pushed Sydney outside the top four (by percentage) and they will next face Collingwood at Tramway Oval on Friday afternoon ahead of Marn Grook at the SCG.
