Senior coach Dean Cox has made three changes to the team in Round 10 with several important players set to return for Marn Grook at the SCG. The Swans will run out against Collingwood this Friday night in week one of Sir Doug Nicholls Round, honouring First Nations people, culture and their contribution to the game.

Charlie Curnow will rejoin to the forward line after missing out on Round 8 with a lower abdominal complaint. Book-ending the team is Tom McCartin who returns after a knee ligament sprain sidelined the key defender after Round 7, and Jai Serong who suffered hamstring tightness in Round 8.

They will replace Dane Rampe, Matt Roberts and Hayden McLean. Speaking to Sydney Swans Media Cox gave insight into the changes.

"It's obviously to manage his body throughout the year. And this is just another one of those occasions," the senior coach shared.

"He's been playing some really good footy for us, but he's also not getting any younger and we need to manage him as well as we possibly can."

On Roberts, he added, "His adductor is a little bit sore and that was throughout the game last week. Unfortunately, didn't come up and might miss a couple of games, which is not great news for him or the footy team, but we'll get him ready and he'll bounce back as quickly as possible."

Sydney Swans v Collingwood

Round 10

SCG, Sydney • NSW

The squad is preparing for another exciting battle against the Pies on the SCG. The last time the two sides met in Sydney, the game ended in a thrilling three-point victory for the Swans.

"They're really experienced across the ground and we know what to expect. They travel really well. We've had some great encounters here at the SCG and look forward to another one."

The Swans will once again wear the Marn Grook guernsey, adapted from the work of renowned Bidiagal artist Jordan Ardler. It first debuted in 2025 and shares a connection with club’s home, The Sellers & Colless Centre, Sydney Swans HQ as it has been adapted from the work showcased through the Welcome to Country at the club’s entrance.

Both sides will compete for the Marn Grook Trophy, while the player deemed best on ground will be awarded the Goodes-O'Loughlin Medal to honour club greats Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin. The medal has been won three times by Isaac Heeney (2018, 2021 and 2025), Lance Franklin (2017 and 2022) and Chad Warner (2023 and 2024), and by Tom Mitchell (2016), Sam Reid (2019) and Fremantle’s Luke Ryan (2020).

"It's a really special weekend and week for the football club to obviously have our First Nations players back around the footy club, but also to spend some time with them and also honour what they do for our great game.

"We've had some unbelievable talent and players come through that have been Indigenous and really excited to show them and make them really proud of what we can do."
