Senior coach Dean Cox has made four changes to his side that will take on Richmond on Saturday afternoon at the SCG.

The Swans will be without some big names with Captain Callum Mills (injured), Brodie Grundy (managed), Tom Papley (injured) and Mal Rosas Jnr (injured) all out of the fixture.

QBE Sydney Swans Academy graduate Harry Kyle will make his debut while experienced trio Harry Cunningham, Pete Ladhams and Hayden McLean also come into the side for Saturday's clash.

Coach Dean Cox said Mills will miss the fixture but is hopeful his skipper will return the following week, while Grundy's workload is being managed.

"Callum's calf was a little tight so we want to make sure we get that right. We expect him to train over the weekend and hopefully play next week," Cox said.

"Brodie has had a huge workload, we want to make sure we get him right for the whole year, he's been phenomenal. Pete (Ladhams) has been in great form in the VFL so it gives him his chance."

One of the exciting inclusions for Saturday is 18-year old Harry Kyle. Kyle was drafted with pick 14 in the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft and will be the 26th QBE Sydney Swans Academy graduate to appear for the senior squad. Racking up eight appearances in the VFL this season, the defender notched 23 disposals across the half back line in the side's narrow loss at Geelong last weekend.

With Captain Callum Mills out for the match, Cox said he saw an opportunity to give a young player a chance at senior level.

"Harry is a NSW boy and he really improved in the back end of the year in the Top End Academy program last year," Cox said.

"He is a really good two-way runner and has been playing behind the ball and developing his game. There's an attacking flair with him but it's his desperation in defence that has been impressive. He had an opportunity against the top team in the VFL in Geelong last week and played really well."

Hayden McLean also returns to the team and will play his 100th AFL game this week. McLean joined the Swans in 2019 in the mid-season as a supplemental selection and went on to debut in Round 18 that year against Fremantle in Perth.

"With Hayden it's been a long year, obviously playing some great footy at VFL level,"  Cox said.

"We know what he did against North Melbourne and he played his role really well. He's been a great servant of our football and had some great form in the VFL so we are happy to have him in the team this week."

Saturday's fixture will see the Swans face the 17th placed Tigers who haven't won at the SCG since 2015. After suffering just their second loss of the season against Geelong, Sydney will aim to get back to winning ways.

They will not take Richmond lightly as the Tigers have found some form, winning two out of their last five, including an 18-point victory over Essendon last weekend at the MCG.

Sydney and Richmond have been evenly matched over their last five meetings, with the Swans winning three out of the last five encounters against the Tigers, including their last meeting in Sydney back in 2022.

Cox said his side expects to face them "at their best" with Sydney also wanting to get back to their best.

"There's areas of our game we need to really improve on" Cox said.

"We spoke about it in the review but identify what Richmond do really well too. They area playing an exciting brand of footy."
