The Sydney Swans have officially launched the upcoming season with a intimate event at the Basil Sellers Richard Colless Centre, Sydney Swans HQ, for the club’s 2026 AFLW Guernsey Presentation night.

The event comes just 10 days before Round 1 where the Swans will take on the Crows in Adelaide on Sunday, August 16.

Former Swans Maddy Collier and Aliesha Newman presented seven players with their first red and white guernsey. Taylor Smith, Aly Neyland, Maddie Quinn, Molly Thomas, Mary-Kate Lynch, Emma Juneja and Indiana Williams were on hand to receive their jumpers.1

New senior coach Colin O'Riordan addressed the new players family and friends in attendance, while captain Lucy McEvoy also spoke of her excitement about the looming season.

"We don’t know exactly what this season will bring. There’ll be challenges and setbacks and there’ll be moments to remember," McEvoy said.

"But I do know this. I know the character of the people in this room and how hard this group is willing to work.

"I know that every one of us who pulls this jumper on will do everything they can for the teammate standing beside them and that gives me a lot of confidence for what’s ahead."

The evening ended with a stirring toast from former Australian no.1 tennis player, Casey Dellacqua, who encouraged the players to lead in their own way, and to write new chapter that every new Swan can follow in the years to come.
