The Sydney Swans AFLW signing spree has continued, with co vice-captain Cynthia Hamilton the latest to put pen to paper on a new deal, remaining in the Harbour City until at least the end of 2029.
Hamilton was drafted to Sydney with pick 11 in the 2022 AFLW Draft, going on to win the Swans inaugural AFLW Club Champion after a breakout season.
The 22-year-old, who has played 42 games and kicked 25 goals, was named co vice-captain alongside Sofia Hurley this pre-season.
Hamilton said she was proud to continue her career with Sydney and excited about the direction of the group.
“We have such a young group, so I think to sign on and be a part of it still is very exciting and I can't wait to get into the season that's about to approach,” Hamilton said.
“Being here since the start, it's something that I'm so invested in, being a part of this club and continuing to be a part of the growth of the team.
“It was quite an easy decision and then obviously having my sister Lexi here, it's home and its family, so it's very easy to stay here.”
Executive General Manager AFLW Football, Kate Mahony said Hamilton’s long-term commitment was a significant boost for the club.
“Cynthia has been an important part of our AFLW journey from the beginning, and we’re thrilled to have her recommit to the club,” Mahony said.
“She is a fierce competitor, a respected leader and someone who continues to drive high standards across our program.”
