The Sydney Swans take on Frankston in the first ever VFL Wildcard Final as their finals campaign begins.

The Swans finished seventh in the 2026 Smithy’s VFL regular season, and will take on Frankston, who finished 10th at the end of the regular season.

If the Swans are victorious on Saturday, they will progress to take on the sixth-placed Port Melbourne in Finals Week 1.

The side will feature plenty of AFL experience, with Malcolm Rosas Jnr, Riak Andrew, and Corey Warner all named for the clash.

Two QBE Sydney Swans Academy athletes will make their VFL debut in the final with Will Morahan and Big Pignatelli playing their first VFL level match.

Having secured a home Wildcard final, the match will be played out at Blacktown International Sports Park on Saturday August 22 at 11:05am.

All Smithy’s VFL and VFLW matches will be streamed live and free on AFL platforms via AFL.com.au and the AFL Live Official App.
