Sydney Swans AFLW ruck Ally Morphett has claimed 10 votes from the coaches following the side's Round 2 victory over Essendon at the SCG on Sunday afternoon.

Morphett was one of four red and white players to earn votes from the coaches following the side's 24-point victory in-front of a historic crowd.

Earning back to back 10 votes from the coaches, Morphett dominated in the air and on the move, finishing with eight disposals, 18 hitouts, and a massive presence around the ground.

Hurley earned seven votes with 24 disposals, 11 tackles and a goal while Laura Gardiner earned one vote, leading the way through the midfield with 30 disposals and a major.

Morphett has claimed the full votes from the coaches from the opening fortnight of the competition, now leading the competition while Hurley sits in tenth with 11 votes after two games. 

The AFLCA AFLW Champion Player of the Year is an award voted by the AFLW Senior Coaches on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort to an individual player in a season. View the leaderboard.
