Lexi Hamilton has become the latest Sydney Swans AFLW player to recommit to the club, with the tall defender signing a new deal until at least the end of 2027.

Since joining Sydney in 2022, following stints with the Gold Coast Suns and North Melbourne, the key defender has become an integral part of the Swans defensive unit.

The 25-year-old has featured 47 times for the Swans and joins a host of Swans players to re-sign in the early stages of the season, including her younger sister Cynthia.

Executive General Manager - AFLW Football, Kate Mahony said it is fantastic to see Hamilton remain at the Swans.

“Lexi is a strong leader in our backline and has continued to grow during her time at the club,” Mahony said.

“Her competitiveness and defensive mindset are a real strength, and what we love about her game.

“Lexi joins her sister, Cynthia and many other players committing to the club in recent weeks, demonstrating the belief within the squad and our program, which is fantastic.”

Hamilton said she was thrilled to extend her time at the Club.

“I love the direction that the Club is going in, I've always known that I wanted to stay here for a really long period of time,” Hamilton said.

“Having such a successful start to the season and being able to extend that onto next year is something so exciting.

“This football club has become my family, so although Cynthia, my true blood sister is here, I've got all my Bloods sisters with me, and I think it's been awesome to showcase what we've been able to do this season.””
