Brodie Grundy has capped off another stellar season in his illustrious 14-year AFL career after picking up his second consecutive Paul Kelly Players’ Player Award and Adam Goodes Trophy at the 2026 Sydney Swans AFL Awards.

He joins Luke Parker, Josh Kennedy, Adam Goodes and Barry Hall as a two-time Players’ Player Award winner.

“I'm feeling a few mixed emotions, but largely just really grateful for the year,” Grundy said.

“My 14th season, third at the Swans. I had a lot of special moments throughout the year… It was a bit of a challenge at the back end of the year, like personally and professionally, but to summarise it, I am actually just feeling really grateful.”

The 2026 season saw the two-time All-Australian play his 250th AFL game in the Swans round seven clash with Melbourne.

“My 250th, you know, is another example of (the care and support shown by the club) that. We had a spot where all my family came up, and the club was so supportive,” Grundy said.

“It was what can we (the club) do to make this an unforgettable experience for you, and it certainly was that. My family felt so supported, they came back to the HQ post-game, and they just feel already a part of the furniture, and I've only been here for, you know, less than a handful of years.”

“There's a lot to be thankful for.”

In his 14th year in the AFL, Grundy was influential throughout the season, averaging 20 disposals, 34 hit-outs and six clearances a game – averages higher than his career average.

The Swans' Marn Grook clash with Collingwood in round nine was a season highlight for the 32-year-old, where Grundy won the Goodes-O'Loughlin medal, being named best on ground, finishing with 34 disposals, 46 hit-outs, and 12 clearances.

Since moving to Sydney, Grundy has fallen back in love with the game and has bought into the journey and trajectory the Swans are on.

“I just reject the notion that if you don't win a flag that year, that it's been a failure,” Grundy said.

“I think Coxy's aware of that. I definitely subscribe to his ethos around a higher purpose while we play the game.

“[Ultimately] It's about bringing people together, connecting, loving and enjoying what we do and bringing the people that are most important to us on that journey.”
